Carrie graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication and received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1998. During her time at UNC, she was an active member of the Holderness Moot Court Invitational Team, which took first place in the Wechsler First Amendment Moot Court competition, and she was invited to appear on C-SPAN. Carrie also received the James William Morrow, III Award, given annually to the most outstanding member of the Moot Court Bench, and was inducted into the Order of Barristers.
Carrie began her practice in Greenville, North Carolina, and moved to Raleigh in 2000. In 2007, she joined our firm as a partner. Carrie has an active trial practice in the areas of medical malpractice defense, professional and general liability, and insurance coverage and she has successfully tried cases to verdict throughout central and eastern North Carolina.
Carrie is an active member of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys and the Defense Research Institute. She regularly provides in-house training for clients and continuing legal education to fellow attorneys on the subject of trial preparation and strategy. Carrie has also continued her lifelong passion for music as a second soprano with the North Carolina Master Chorale.
