Carla graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Communications Studies. While at UNC, she was president of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Campbell University School of Law in 2001. While in law school, Carla was a member of the ABA Moot Court Team, the National Trial Team, and the ABA Criminal Justice Trial Team. She also served as president of Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity and as a representative of the Student Bar Association. Upon graduation, she was inducted into the Order of the Barristers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers for Distinguished Achievement in the Student Trial Advocacy Program. She also received the Fred O. Dennis Award upon her law school graduation.
Carla joined our firm in September 2001. She has successfully tried cases in the North Carolina state courts, at the North Carolina Industrial Commission, and in multiple arbitration forums. She has also conducted various workers compensation and civil liability seminars for multiple clients.
Carla is admitted to appear in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. She currently serves on the Young Lawyers Committee of the North Carolina Association for Defense Attorneys and has been the co-chair of the annual Wake County Young Lawyers' Clothing Drive in 2005, 2006 and 2007. She also volunteers as general advisor to Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority at UNC-Chapel Hill.
