Tracey graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Business Administration. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University in 1997. While in law school, Tracey served as a Notes and Comments Editor on the Wake Forest Law Review and as a Teacher's Assistant for Legal Research and Writing. After graduation, she worked for two years as a law clerk for Chief Judge Sidney S. Eagles, Jr. at the North Carolina Court of Appeals before joining our firm in July 1999. She became a partner in January 2007.

Tracey focuses her practice exclusively in the field of workers' compensation and has extensive experience defending asbestosis and other occupational disease claims. In addition to her trial practice before the North Carolina Industrial Commission, she has significant appellate practice, having defended numerous workers' compensation claims before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and North Carolina Supreme Court. In 2010, Tracey was designated a "Rising Star" in the North Carolina edition of Super Lawyers.

Tracey is a member of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, and Wake County Bar Association. She is also a member of the North Carolina Bar Association's Workers' Compensation Section Council.
