Tammy attended Ohio State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1979 and a Juris Doctor degree in 1982. She began her legal career in Ohio in private practice, focusing exclusively in workers' compensation. She then worked for the Ohio Supreme Court where she greatly expanded her knowledge of the law. After moving to North Carolina in 1986, she was appointed to the North Carolina Industrial Commission as a Deputy Commissioner and served in that capacity until September 1995.

Tammy initially joined our firm in 1996 and for the next three years focused exclusively on workers' compensation defense. She rejoined the firm in November 2005, bringing with her over twenty years of experience in workers' compensation law, and became a partner in January 2008.

Tammy has lectured on North Carolina workers' compensation law in a variety of forums and has been chosen by her peers to appear in the 2008-2010 editions of North Carolina Super Lawyers in the field of Workers' Compensation. In 2009 and 2010, Tammy was listed in The Best Lawyers in America. She also served on the committee which revised the Medico-Legal Guidelines. Her professionalism and expertise in workers' compensation law have earned her the highest rating given by Martindale-Hubbell.

Tammy is admitted to practice in North Carolina and Ohio. Her professional memberships include the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, North Carolina Bar Association and Wake County Bar Association.
