Jacob attended the University of North Carolina, from which he graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. He received his Juris Doctor degree cum laude from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2002. While at Wake Forest, Jacob was a member of the Moot Court Board and Joseph Branch Inn of Court. He received both the 2001 NCATL Most Outstanding Advocate Award and the CALI Award and, upon graduation, was selected for membership in the Order of the Coif, a national honorary scholastic society for excellence in legal education.

Jacob joined our firm in September 2002 and became a partner in January 2010. His practice includes general tort liability defense, construction defect litigation, insurance coverage, professional liability, and workers' compensation. He is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, Wake County Bar Association, and North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, and is admitted to appear before all North Carolina courts and in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of North Carolina, as well as in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He has also been recognized as a "Rising Star" by his peers in the 2010 and 2011 North Carolina Edition of Super Lawyers.
