George graduated summa cum laude from Appalachian State University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, having majored in insurance and real estate. He received a Juris Doctor degree from Campbell University School of Law in 1991. While in law school, George served as Business Editor of the Campbell Law Review and authored a published Note in that journal. He was also a member of the ABA National Criminal Justice Trial Team and was named to the Order of Barristers.
Prior to attending law school, George worked one year for an independent property/casualty insurance agency, three years with the Group Health Department of the Travelers Insurance Company, and seven years as a stockbroker/certified financial planner for E. F. Hutton. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves for ten years, and served his last three years as a Captain.
George became a partner of our firm in 1998. His primary practice areas are complex insurance and bad faith issues, defense of insurance agents, brokers and dealers, products and general liability cases and workers' compensation. He is a member of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association and the Wake County Bar Association. George is also an active member of Defense Research Institute's Insurance Law Committee. He regularly attends the annual Insurance Coverage and Claims Institute Seminar in Chicago and the Insurance Coverage Practice Seminar in New York.
George is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of North Carolina, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina. In 2008, he was named by Triangle Business Leader as one of the Top Lawyers in Trial/Litigation.
