Summer Associate Program

Teague Campbell Dennis & Gorham has designed a Summer Associate Program for law students who have completed their first two years of school. This program is the firm's single most important source of hiring new Associate Attorneys. Summer Associates are provided a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the firm's dynamic work environment, culture and practice. They are given assignments and training aimed at exposing them to the issues and needs of our clients, enabling them to experience what it would be like to work at TCDG upon graduation.

The duration of the summer program is 10 weeks. Each Summer Associate will be assigned a Mentor, whose role is to:

  • Educate the Summer Associate regarding the firm's areas of practice.
  • Ensure he/she is well acclimated to the Firm's work environment.
  • Educate the Summer Associate to the firm's policies and procedures.
  • Clarify what is taught in formal training programs by explaining how lessons apply to practice.
  • Provide ongoing feedback.

Summer Associates are exposed to matters such as mediations, hearings, depositions and trial and given the opportunity to work with numerous members of the firm, including its most senior partners. A variety of social events give the Summer Associate exposure to the members of the firm. While portions of the work produced by the Summer Associates are considered billable, Summer Associates are not required to produce a minimum number of billable hours.

Summer Associates will be asked to provide a notebook summarizing their work at the end of the program. This may include briefs, memos, correspondence, research and more. They will also participate in an exit interview to ensure their feedback is collected.

Our track record of hiring most Summer Associates as Associate Attorneys is proof that the Teague Campbell Dennis & Gorham Summer Associate Program is effective. TCDG is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
